I made this card recently, while I'm in the mood to colour the super cute stamped image. :) A lot of blue, and a lot more colourful; I hope you like the card. I miss my best friend, but I'll be seeing her this October. Can't wait!

I made this card today with this coloured image of a steaming coffee cup in mind. I coloured the stamped image last night, and chose the theme colours based on it. It's not my best work, I think, but I love the coffee cup. Or cocoa in a cup, if you don't drink coffee. ;)

Just Saying Hello (CP #106)

Card-making challenges are very addictive. I had fun making this card. It is loosely based on Sketch #106 on Card Patterns.

I don't currently own a die-cut machine, so I couldn't make a circle-shaped paper. I could draw and cut it using scissors, but I didn't want to. Therefore, I used a rectangle shape instead. I hope that's okay. :)

It's my first time using tiny roses on my card. I got them from a supplier from Thailand, who sells mulberry flowers. I love layering the flowers! Hope you like the card.

Brown Friendship & Birthday Cards

Here are 2 more cards that I made recently. I just love the scallop circle. ♥ The scallop circle paper shapes will be available on my store soon! I cannot wait to see how they'll do. I think purchasing these ready-made paper shapes is a cheaper alternative to purchasing the shape punches and die-cut machines.

I hope you'll like the cards as much as I do. I think I make nice dark coloured cards, but I'm still working on my pastels. Happy Sunday!

Friendship & Birthday Cards

Friendship Card in Brown - Journey

I made this card yesterday. Yenny requested for me to make a friendship card for a dear friend, whose favourite colour is brown. I used 3 different pattern paper, 2 brown medium flower brads, a vellum sentiment sheet, a ribbon, and flower stickers to make this. Have a great week, everyone!

Making A Friendship Card Using Collage Technique

I received some beautiful die-cut tulips from a swapper recently. I wanted to use them as my card embellishment, but I found it difficult to match it with my patterned paper collection.

I wanted to use a black card stock with the tulip. To make it work, I used some old French dictionary pages that I have torn in random shapes and glued piece by piece on the black card stock.

This technique is called collage. It is derived from a French word, coller, which means 'to glue'. I love collaging and have been using the technique many times before. I love it because of its simplicity and how easy it is to achieve the desired result using this technique.

The theme here is vintage, so the old French dictionary pages give the sort of mysterious, 18th century feel to it. I glued a brown satin ribbon onto the card and stuck a heart-shaped metal charm to the ribbon, so it dangles there. Then, I glued another metal charm that says, 'friendship'.

It was my first time using a metal charm in my project. I've seen other people use metal charms in their card-making, scrap booking or even in decorating matchboxes. I think it gives dimension and depth to any kind of crafts.

I made this card for a friend. I hope she'll like it, since she loves tulip very much. Let me know what you think!
